Dear all-

My first post on my first personal blog!  It feels momentous to me, as I have not considered myself very savvy with technology.  Thanks to Jordyn who helped me set up the blog and who will help me when I text her with things I don't understand!

Early summer:  my favorite time of year.  Two weeks of summer have already passed, and I've accomplished a lot.  I'm in Iowa on the family farm to celebrate my birthday and spend some time with family before spending virtually the entire summer on the road.  My Sommerreise will keep me wandering from next Tuesday to the day before school starts.  I will experience new things, learn more about myself, and get some time away from it all.  I can't wait, though now that it is almost here I am sad to leave my awesome dog, Johnny, and my house which I have been turning into a home.  But it is time to hit the road so off we go.....
