Finesterre- the end of the earth
It is so beautiful up here! Today we took the bus to Finesterre- some people walked part way, but I had already finished the Camino so I didn't and I was happy about it! We were dropped off at our hotel and Mom and I rested for a while and then walked into the town. A lovely fishing town with lots of seaside restaurants and beaches. Mom and I waded in the Atlantic and it was cold and felt fabulous on my sore calves. We walked back to the hotel and I napped again- it was a hot hot day. Then we took the bus out to the lighthouse at Finesterre, where for many hundreds of years people thought it was the end of the earth. And it was the end of the known world. Left something behind that I brought from WI and bought some handmade trinkets. Mom walked back to the hotel with the tour guide (she was the only taker from the whole group). I waited for her on pins and needles but she made it fine. My friend popped my one blister on my toe (the only injury to my feet! I also suffered lots of spider and bug bites, a few small cuts, and some chaffing, but other than that only mild sunburn and very, very, very, very sore muscles) and then we went to dinner and mom and Kathy had anglerfish and I had pork chops. An early morning tomorrow as we had bak to Porto, Portugal for our last day. We'll stop in a fishing village on the coast which apparently has beautiful embroidery and we'll tour a winery that makes port. Fun day, though I am ready to be home and getting ready for the 3rd stage of my summer- NYC!

HI HI HI!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBy the looks of it, you have had quite an adventure so far this summer.
It's incredible that you've managed to accomplish so much!
We think it is pretty sweet that you have managed to walk a bajillion miles and are still standing to tell us all the stories! But, just because you have done a ton of fabulous things out side of Eau Claire, doesn't mean you don't get to do fabulous things here too!! When you get back we have to have an adventure of our own! :)(This adventure would include dirty water, inner tubes, some mexican food and definitely sun screen)
WE MISS YOU!
Love,
Abby and Jordyn
